Based on the legendary 249cc YZ liquid-cooled reed-valve-inducted two-stroke engine, the YZ250X runs a revised compression ratio, exhaust port timing, Yamaha Power Valve System timing and a model-specific CDI unit.
To increase rider confidence in challenging cross country conditions, smoothly integrated body panels, narrow fuel tank design, slim shroud width and flat seat all combine to enable greater freedom of movement forward and back, allowing the rider to easily shift body weight for better control.

COMPACT EXHAUST
The exhaust expansion chamber is designed especially for the YZ250X, and is narrow for clearance on tight, technical trails, while still providing excellent exhaust efficiency.

The fully adjustable KYB 48mm forks feature the Speed-Sensitive System which uses piston speed to control the damping force for super-precise handling, superb bump absorption and 300mm of suspension travel.

CROSS-COUNTRY FEATURES
The YZ250X is focused on off-road competition and receives the same features as 125X such as 18-inch rear wheel, wide-ratio gearing - five speed in this case -Â standard side stand, sealed O-ring chain, reserve fuel petcock, headlight and scraper between the fork's dust and oil seal, all adding up to exciting performance.
ENDURO-SPECIFIC WHEELS AND TYRES
Cross-country-spec Dunlop Geomax AT81 tyres front and rear are ready to head straight to the races. An 18-inch rear tyre has a taller sidewall to improve comfort and reduce pinch flats.
ENDURO ERGONOMICS
A racy 'gripper' type seat and narrow fuel tank combine with a tapered aluminium handlebar and adjustable mounts to create greater freedom of movement and more comfortable ergonomics for riders.
